Blossom Hill celebrated the incredible nursing staff who care for the 36 individuals at their Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) group home. A special luncheon is planned for later in May at Bucci’s J Bella’s in Strongsville. Blossom Hill’s four ICF group homes accommodate individuals with developmental and physical disabilities who have high medical needs and specialize in serving individuals with behavioral needs.
The 17 nurses know the individuals so well and have the clinical experience and knowledge to provide thorough medical care. “They are knowledgeable, skilled and provide compassionate care in their unwavering persistence to get the best care for our individuals,” said Lisa Kristosik, RN, MSN, BSN, CEO of Blossom Hill. “What makes the nurses unique at Blossom Hill is that they know everything about these individuals like they do their own family. From Zoom calls to picnics in the park, they are there to care for and be a major part of their lives.”
“Our nurses are some of the biggest advocates for our individuals,” said Jessica Toivonen, Executive Director/Director of Operations at Blossom Hill. “They are on the phone with doctors offices, hospitals, and other caregivers to make sure our individuals receive amazing care.”
Nurse’s Week is supported by the American Nurses Association and the World Health Organization (WHO). This year, organizations across the globe celebrate the “Nurses Make a Difference.” This recognition builds on the increased visibility of nurses’ contributions from 2020 and ANA’s expansion of National Nurses Week to Nurses Month in May.
